• Zoo Med's AvianSun deluxe floor lamp is fully adjustable and can be used in almost any position. It includes a built-in reflector for maximum light and UV output. Designed for use with Zoo Med's AvianSun compact fluorescent lamp (sold separately).


• Provides birds with UVA as part of their full spectrum of visible light to help promote normal behavior and help curb feather picking and other destructive behaviors. (Birds have specialized retinas that enable them to see UVA, helping them to recognize mates, locate food and identify different species. UVA is also necessary for the psychological health of birds.)


• Provides birds with UVB for growth, maintenance of strong bones and egg production. (Exposure to UVB allows birds to synthesize Vitamin D₃ in their skin or through a special process involving the preen gland. Vitamin D₃ is essential for proper calcium metabolism.)
