DVH Aquatics All-In-One Advanced BioPellets [1000 mL]

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The DVH Aquatic All-in-One Advanced Biopellets have a unique microporous structure combined with a secondary facilitator to bind acids and nutrition. This provides both external and internal support for nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria which allows them to work 5-10 times more efficient than normal Biopellets. Maintaining nitrates is key to obtaining the best coral coloration, healthy fish and avoiding algae outbreaks.

We were the first to develop and present the NP reducing Biopellets which are mostly removing Nitrogen waste products and to a small extend also Phosphates. We kept developing our product and came out with the All-in-One Biopellets which simultaneously bonded and removed more phosphates and nitrates than before.

Now it is time to take the next step, the DVH Aquatic All-in-One Advanced Biopellets. We listened to our customers feedback, the issues they encountered, and developed this new and unique Biopellet from scratch, in-house. The main challenges are still the nitrate levels and nowadays we know that phosphates are also a key factor for successfully keeping corals. Phosphate levels are relativity easy to lower in the water so we put our focus on even removing more nitrates with a minimal impact on the phosphates levels.

How Biopellets remove nitrates and phosphates from the system:
Nitrate loaded bacteria are removed via the protein skimmer.
Bacteria consume nitrates and process them, with aid of phosphates, down into nitrogen gas.
Nitrate laden bacteria is consumed by tank inhabitants like corals and crustaceans.
Bacteria need phosphates to process nitrate.

Dosage:
Place 35-150ml of pellets per 100L / 25G of water in a fluidized reactor. Depending on your system it takes 2-6 weeks for the bacteria population to multiply and begin to consume your nitrates.

If nitrates >20ppm, place the pellets gradually.
Add extra pellets when the volume in the reactor is decreasing over time.
Recommended NO3:PO4 ratio = 1 : 0,01
DVH Aquatic All-in-One Advanced Biopellets are made in Holland.

How Biopellets work:
BioPellets are consumed by bacteria, which is why new pellets need to be added every 6-12 months to compensate for digested pellets. This can be seen during inspection of the filter or when you measure an increase of nitrates. These figures however depend on aquarium conditions and are strongly influenced by feeding regimes and livestock. The pellets will allow aerobic growth of bacteria which consequently will consume nitrate and phosphate simultaneously. The bacteria will use up the carbon from the Biopellets, whilst nitrogen and phosphorus are taken from the water as nitrate and (ortho)phosphate. This conversion of organic BioPellets (together with inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus) into microbial biomass is called immobilization. Taking regular measurements of both nitrate and phosphate levels in the aquarium is recommended, after which dosages may be increased or decreased. We suggest placing the outlet of the pellet filter in front of a protein skimmer, to limit the amount of bacteria entering the system. This has the additional benefit of increased gas exchange (CO2-removal and O2-addition). The pellets should never be used without sufficient aeration, as this may lead to low oxygen and pH levels, especially during night time. Proper aeration can be established with air pumps and protein skimmers.

Shipping

How is my order shipped and what does it cost?

Orders are shipped either by Courier [currently FedEX Ground] or Postal Service --- the choice is yours!

For delivery by Courier, you pay the actual charges based on a 1 kG package [2.2 lbs] shipped via ground service, plus a nominal $1.00 service charge to cover the cost of insurance and packing materials. We pay any additional charges.

For Postal Service (your best value), shipping on orders under $100.00 is $13.95 to most locations in Canada, exceptions noted below. For orders between $100.00 and $150.00 the rate is $9.95, for orders between $150.00 and $200.00 the rate is just $4.95 and for orders over $200.00 shipping is FREE. The more you order the more you save! The delivery standard for this service is between 1 to 7 business days between all major centers.

NOTE: Additional Shipping Charges apply to orders shipped to the NWT, YK, NU and some rural or remote locations in Canada as well as on over sized or heavy items indicated by the - Additional Shipping symbol.

The flat rate shipping cost used as well as our contribution towards that cost, is usually sufficient to cover the cost of shipping however if you are located in a remote or air stage area, additional shippings charges may apply. In those circumstances we'll contact you regarding any addtional cost so you can decide whether to proceed with your order or not. Otherwise we'll just get the order in its way to you.
